Summer Internships


Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, LLC, an environmental cleanup contractor at the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in Paducah, Kentucky, is offering paid summer internships beginning May 20, 2019 through July 26, 2019 for students who meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in the following fields of study:

  • Engineering –– Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Environmental, Structural, Civil
  • Environmental Management
  • Occupational Safety and Health
  • Construction Management
  • Regulatory Affairs
  • Industrial Safety
  • Computer Science
  • Finance & Accounting

  • Procurement & Subcontracts
  • Property, Warehouse & Fleet Management
  • Site Planning

Eligibility Requirements

At least 18 years old by May 20, 2019

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor or Master’s degree

Have a minimum GPA of 2.5

Must be at least a sophomore

Successfully pass Drug Screen and Background check

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Program Description & Application Process

The internship provides students with an opportunity to apply the classroom learning to practical tasks and project activities.  Please submit your resume, including a one-page cover letter describing your career goals, to with the word “INTERNSHIP” in the subject line. Please indicate the position(s) for which you are applying. Resumes will be accepted through Monday, March 11, 2019. Travel and lodging reimbursement will not be provided.

Internship programs at Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership will provide an exciting opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals dedicated to the safe environmental remediation of the U.S. Department of Energy Paducah Site.


Available Positions

  • Engineering––Seeking Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Environmental, Structural and Civil engineering majors
  • Construction Management––Require strong skills working with spreadsheets, project management and communication. Preferred areas of study include Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil)
  • Environmental Management—Seeking Environmental Engineer, Geological Engineer, Geologist, or Hydrologist majors with strong writing, speaking, and organizational skills.
  • Human Resources––Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Preferred areas of study include human resources, human organization development, management, business
  • Operations––Applicants should be skilled in Excel, possess strong communication skills and a general understanding of project management within a construction environment.
  • Procurement, Subcontract, Property, Finance & Accounting—Applicants should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and demonstrate exemplary attention to detail.  Preferred areas of study include business and accounting.
  • Public Affairs––Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Preferred areas of study include communication, marketing, public relations, journalism.
  • Training Development––Preferred applicants will have experience working with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.  Areas of study may include broadcasting, marketing and mass communications.
  • Water Treatment Plant––Seeking a Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical engineering student proficient in working with Excel spreadsheets. Individual must be a team player with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Site Planning––Seeking Mechanical Engineer with strong database and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
