Protective Force Training Manager

Position Overview

The Protective Force (PF) Training Manager has overall responsibility for ensuring that all PF required training is accomplished in accordance with Department of Energy (DOE) policy and applicable Code of Federal Regulations.  The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support the Security Operations Manager and/or the senior management team in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

Plans, organizes, and schedules all PF training to ensure effective use of employees and to achieve compliance with all Department of Energy (DOE) and regulatory requirements of a Security nature.

Ensures all training documentation that requires Federal approval is developed and submitted for signature within applicable deadlines.

Ensures that the components of Instructional System Design are incorporated into the training program accordingly.

Writes and/or reviews training program support documents and obtains and maintains National Training Center (NTC) Training Approval Plan certification for the program.

Develops and conducts tactical training for active assailant response.

Responsible for management duties for the training cadre.

Works closely with DOE NTC to ensure that the training program stays up to date with DOE curricula.

Works closely with the Infrastructure Support Services security team in the development of security incident response plans to ensure that all training needs are appropriately captured.

Assists the S&S management team in other programmatic areas as needed.

Performs work safely, in accordance with established policies and has responsibility for the safety of department employees and ensures that those being supervised comply with establish safety policies.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of DOE related experience or a combination of education and a minimum of 10 years of security experience.

Strong writing, interpersonal, communication, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.

Strong computing skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office.

Strong organizational skills with emphasis on time management.

Must be able to perform work within the controls of written directives.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DOE security clearance.

DOE Basic Instructor Training Lead Instructor.

DOE Armorer Certified.

DOE Firearms Instructor certified.

DOE Intermediate Force Instructor certified.

DOE Job Analysis certification.

DOE Curriculum Development certification.

Military Background with emphasis on weapons and training

DOE Instructional Systems Design certified

Background in DOE PF operations

DOE Performance Testing experience

Security Leadership experience
