IT Specialist II

Position Overview
Under general supervision, performs Information Technology job functions as assigned by management.

Typical job responsibilities assist and support management by implementing, maintaining and upgrading assigned components of the IT infrastructure of hardwar e, network communications and applications required to support Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership operations and business requirements, and to ensure compliance with all applicable contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements and Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership procedures. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

 Responsible for management and support of software development projects of medium to low complexity which may utilize one or more of the following technologies and systems: Microsoft, Unix/Linux, Solaris, Oracle, Microsoft .NET, Microsoft IIS, C#, Java, T SQL, PL/SQL, and Cold Fusion
 Respons ible for the management and support of desktop, client/server and web based applications of medium to low complexity
 Ensures compliance with software change and version control utilizing common software project management methodologies.
 Must be able to provide simultaneous support of multiple enterprise software applications and IT projects
 Responsible for supporting a large user base including: Nuclear Safety and Engineering, Business Services, Project Management, ESH&Q, and various other functions
 Assist s with analysis of infrastructure / systems performance at assigned sites; identifies and recommends necessary upgrades or repairs as needed to improve functionality, usability, performance and/or reliability within standard techniq ues, procedures and criteria
 Plans and conducts work based on independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
 May assist in the software development
 May be assigned special projects
 Provides technical and/or functi onal support to IT team members and assigned organizational units.
 Performs duties general/routine to moderately complex in nature
 Other job related duties as assigned
 Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
 Actively participates in Safety Work Groups

Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in closely related field and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 3 - 6 years.
Work history and/or education commensurate with:

 The ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and business needs.

Working Conditions
Work in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.
In some cases radiological training may be required.
